I believe that the profound possibility for change lies at the heart of discomfort and the truths of our lives. It is through greater support and systems-change that we will realize this possibility.

The work being done to protect, iterate, and improve our democracy and environment is a courageous key component to making our world more just, anti-racist, equitable, resilient, and joyful. As a coach for progressive candidates and democracy champions, I have the joy of working with groups such as Brand New Congress, Moms in Office, and ofbyfor.

I know this work can feel like a lot to carry.

As a coach, I support progressive democracy champions, nerds, and innovators, to expand and advocate for the possibilities of democratic representation -- without burning out in the process -- because we need you in this for the long-haul.

At the heart of our most challenging moments is the most profound possibility for change. All we need to do is lean in and not look away -- which is easier said than done -- and that is where coaching can support.

As an ICF certified coach and facilitator, I help my clients move towards desired outcomes with more efficacy, clarity, focus, and ease so that you can create the more just, equitable, resilient, and joyous world we seek.

What would it be like for me to say what I am seeing and I wasn't worried about how it ruffled peoples feathers.

Theory of change

We believe that the combination of activated and politically engaged practitioners, alignment around liberatory principles of culture building, and the development of clearly articulated emotional competencies, will support a more thriving and inviting ecosystem supportive of movements.

How we do anything is how we do everything

For each person I believe:

  • You are whole and complete

  • You have a desire to make a difference

  • You have much to contribute

  • You have your own answers

  • You deserve dignity and respect

This guides my work. I will hold these truths as I partner with you in the contribution you are here to make.

  • How we are doing change is just as important in the micro-moments as it is in the macro

  • Death is a part of life; how we move towards death is how we move through life.

  • We are here to surrender to the truth of our lives.

  • A commitment to investigate my own conclusions and beliefs

  • Look, See, Tell the Truth, Take Authentic Action

Guiding Questions: What support am I willing to ask for? What support am I willing to offer?

We are interdependent and it is through the asking, receiving, and offering of support that we strengthen trust and connection. We each hold a piece of the collective wisdom and creativity that lies within the community. And it is how we relate in our interactions that provides the foundation for systems of change.

Guiding Question: What is so? What have I done that is in or out of alignment with my values?  What is there for me to clean up? What shifts and/or amends must I make?

Let's distinguish a difference between truth and honesty.

Look at institutions not individuals, structures and systems.

Guiding Question: What is so? What have I done that is out of alignment with my values?  What is there for me to clean up? What shifts and/or amends must I make?

For me as coach, this means I endeavor to support you through whatever is uncomfortable that arises; it means I am open to the perspectives of others; and it means I aim to harvest the wisdom of the group in a way that supports the uniqueness of each individual. Way of being to be with all the waves of the emotional experience

integrity, transparency, humility, self-responsibility, curiosity, self-accountability, and most importantly; respect.

with a focus on embracing intellectual diversity, making room for difficult conversations, leading with curiosity, cultivating a growth mindset (using evidence-based methods), developing behavioural flexibility, and getting you back in the driver’s seat.

Sane leadership is the unshakeable faith in people’s capacity to be generous, creative and kind. It is the commitment to create the conditions for these capacities to blossom, protected from the external environment.  It is the deep knowing that, even in the most dire circumstances, more becomes possible as people engage together with compassion and discernment, self-determining their way forward.”

Guiding values: generosity, inclusion, diversity, respect, and kindness. Nurturing lifelong learning and supportive, collaborative relationships is important to me.

Theory of Change

At my most authentic...

When not nerding out to innovative systems-change, I can be found swing dancing my heart out, camping in the Nova Scotia wilderness, swimming any chance I get, and napping as a revolutionary act🙃. I love making pancakes on the weekend and add pickles or sauerkraut to almost every meal.

I will sing every song that is played on the radio even if I don’t know the words and I spend way too much money on house plants yet never remember to water them.

In addition to my work as a coach, I train crisis counselors & therapists in coaching skills, I am a program manager for Hacker Lab's MAKEHERS program, and a course leader at the Academy for Coaching Excellence.

One day I would love to run a full triathlon, see Ranked Choice Voting & Democratic Lotteries used everywhere, and live in a ecovillage with my partner Matt (and the plans currently under way🎉).

I take inspiration from my many teachers over my life and am currently particularly pulled to the works of Pema Chodron and adrienne maree brown among many others.

I currently live on Miꞌkmaq territory (Halifax, Nova Scotia).
